Tavel - These images reflect on my travels to Nicaragua, Cuba, and parts of Asia (Hongkong and Thailand).

Nicaragua - I travelled to Nicaragua several times as a chaperone with secondary school students who were working in various communities on their spring break. The pictures here however do not focus on the students' experiences. They are just a few of my many stolen moments where I tried to get some sense for a place that had begun to reach into my Latin soul.

Cuba - I visited Cuba in 2005. At that time, I was still shooting film. I shot many rolls of Fuji chrome and recently reviewed them. Only a small sample have yet been scanned.

Asia - The Asia collection was shot on my only trip there in 1987. Asia was very disorienting. The culture was very inaccessible to me, due mostly to my lack of language skills and the inability to properly read people signals. As I look back at this huge volume of images, I am confronted with unusual photographic images that are to me, at once beautiful and exotic but confusing and disjointed. This selection of images is in limbo now but I do have an inkling that I am missing something vital and need to explore further.
